Kayne (pronounced "Kane") is a Celtic name meaning "intelligent," and what a perfect name for this highly intelligent boy! His face really says it all. Kayne has a luxurious, sleek black coat with tufts of white on his throat (called a locket) and tummy. His eyes are a light gold.
We received an urgent request for help from "Jill," a woman who had had Kayne since he was a kitten. Jill's father was undergoing lung transplant surgery and then was moving in with Jill and her husband....into a very tiny apartment. The dad was highly allergic to cats and, given his condition, could not be put at risk. Sadly, Jill needed to part with her beloved Kayne.
We found a wonderful foster mom for Kayne--Lisa in the East Bay. He's been with Lisa since early summer, and he's doing very well. Unfortunately, Lisa's circumstances are changing later this year when she must move to a home where the people can't accommodate an extra cat. So, once again, Kayne needs to find a new home.
Lisa tells us Kayne has a good appetite and is flexible about what he eats. He uses the litter box with regularity--no problems. Lisa writes: "He?s extremely affectionate and likes to be near you. It?s easy to clip his nails. He?s chatty in a delightful way, not a loud/yowly way. He comes when called. He?s playful."
Kayne should do well with another friendly cat and possibly a gentle dog....also nice children. He's really a sweet, loving guy!
NOTE: We've had Kayne's mouth examined and are waiting to get the vet's recommendations re a cleaning or extractions. If these are needed, FRNC will handle this before we adopt him.
